End Use of Renewable Energy Technology
Winrock International-Nepal seeks to develop projects and rural energy services that result in sufficient end-use applications to result in affordability of renewable energy technologies and improvement in livelihoods. Winrock, as part of its energy and information and communication technology (ICT) activities, is working to enhance the use of bio-fuels and Information Communication Technologies to improve and increase economic and social productivity for rural development.
Winrock International-Nepal works to enhance the use of locally available Jatropha seeds as an alternative source of energy to operate irrigation pumps in the Terai region of Nepal.
Winrock's ICT expansion model partners with the private sector, government entities, and supports the government's ICT efforts, facilitates rural income generation, and includes the rural population more effectively in the country's development.
